Worldwide Economical Effect and Impact Upon Gay Marriages
When talking about the worldwide economy and the controversial same sex marriages, there must be mentioned two major effects that these two have: first of all, the legalization of gay marriages can have as a following a significant economical boost in those particular states/countries where gay marriages are officially recognized, due to the taxes that the couples have to pay, etc.
Second of all, in the same time the very unstable worldwide economical situation is seen as an obstacle not only by heterosexual couples, but especially by gay/lesbian couples who want to get married or purchase a real estate who confront with this, besides the fact that they also deal with the obstacles imposed by society.
However, one thing`s for sure: the recession is affecting all of us, whether we are talking about gay/lesbian/bisexual couples who want to purchase a real estate or the heterosexual couples who want to get married.
As you probably know, August was a "decision-making month" for the State of California, where Prop 8 was finally considered against the human rights and unconstitutional. One of the biggest and most important reasons mentioned by gay, lesbian, bisexual couples and their heterosexual supporters was the economical impact gay marriages would have upon the economy of the State of California, claiming that by legalizing gay marriages, the local economy will obviously grow (keeping in mind the thousands of couples who plan on getting married, now that the Prop 8 is not valid anymore), so everybody has something to earn.
On the other hand, those who oppose the legalization of gay marriages say that although this may have a good side for the moment, it can be an "expensive investment" throughout time.
I personally believe that although everybody seems to agree with the gay marriages and the lesbian marriages (prolly because this brings a good light on their image), nobody seems to be aware or mention anything about the well-known tax code, which isn`t something to be neglected. As said, the recession has already made our lives more difficult, and I doubt that everybody could afford paying that particular tax. Besides, although not everybody guarantees financial benefits for gay married couples, some companies and corporations can get bankrupt or encounter with a significant economical loss, which is another "undesired side-effect" when it comes to gay marriages and lesbian marriages.
In your opinion, what economical effects would gay marriages have? What impacts would be recorded in the economical field due to the legalization of gay/lesbian marriages? Will these impacts be benefical or not?
