Twinks... Why`s everybody so mad after Twinkies?!
You know, some lyrics just came into my mind when I was thinking about this topic. You probably know Ladytron, the music band, and in their song called "Seventeen" they have a couple of lyrics which I consider to be really true (and appliable to the real life): "They only want you when you`re 17/ When you`re 21, you`re no fun". Isn`t that so... ?
First of all, for those of you who don`t know what the term "Twink" means, I shall put it in a nutshell: "twink" is a lgbt slang which reffers to very young gay boys, usually around the age of 18-20. However, this term is very used among the LGBT community, so if you`re new it`s impossible not to hear it like every single day.
Why is everybody so mad after twinks? I mean, most of the gay men out there want twinks for sexual purposes only, very few of them would like to start a relationship with a twink because they see twinks as immature and childish. Well, yeah, that`s normal, how do you expect them to be since they`re 18 or so?
If you`ve seen the TV series " Queer as Folk ", Justin is the perfect example of a twink: young, beautiful, somehow naive and... gay. Brian simply takes advantage of his youth and beauty, but he doesn`t want to have anything else to do with him because he`s young and Brian is not quite the "relationship guy". This is how things usually are when it comes to twinks.
On the other hand, many older gay guys like to have affairs with twinks. Who wouldn`t, actually? Their youth makes even the older ones feel younger.
What do you find attractive when looking at a twink? If there`s "trans-chaser" for men obsessed by transsexuals, should we call those twink addicts "twink-chasers"?

I am 30 years old and I guess what I like about them are there typical physical attributes more then anything else like there smooth youthful, slim, slender, toned, or muscular bodies. We all remember how we were when we were 16-23. In that age bracket adulthood is fresh and new, and we are all just trying to find our places in the world. All we really want to do around those ages is take advantage of our new found adulthood and party, drink, and have sx.... So when someone older gets with a twink that youthful energy comes back and the combination of twinks being experimental freaks in the bed and your experience makes the sx even more fun....
It didn't take long to realize that being younger in the gay world was like having a free ride in a fancy car. We put so much emphasis on youth! You mention Queer As Folk...remember when Brian had his 30th birthday and they threw him a funeral! Oi...so now I'm coming up on 30 and I gotta say I can't wait. What does youth and beauty get you? A bunch of old men trolling after you, buying you overpriced clothes and watches your tiny arm can barely lift. Only to be "caged" in some upscale condo. And what if you actually want to be taken seriously, that you have valid ideas that will move your country forward...but, you can bounce a quarter off my ass and I've never worked out a day!
It's true, beauty is wasted on the young...but its coveted by the aged.
I personally look forward to laugh lines and salt and pepper hair...maybe then you'll sit down and listen to what I have to say...
Oh yeah, I definitely remember that episode... haha, fool Brian he wanted to hang himself I guess he didn`t realize that even though he was thirty he was smoking hot and young. Actually all those who turn 30 are still cute and young, it`s all about a matter of perception isn`t it?

I think it's also a trait of males generally that they are attracted to young and beautiful people. Think how older hetero guys want young sexy girls. The biology part is that males are conditioned to some degree to want to have sex with beautiful people because they're perceived as healthy and fertile, even though young guys obviously can't get pregnant. The the other aspect is cultural in that "possessing" beauty is a status symbol for guys. Just my take on it.
