Web directories have become extremely popular throughout the years. These types of sites offer individuals an easy and sufficient way to find a particular type of business. Almost all directories have categories to choose from to help visitors get exactly what they want, and fast. For even quicker results, there are sites called niche directories, where the directory is based on a specific area of interest. In your search, you will only find business's that are linked to that specific interest and not hundreds of business's offering off topic services. By using a niche, you will not only quicken your search, but decrease stress and irritability from prolonged searches.

With the thousands of directories floating around on the web, there is one specific type that remains extremely beneficial. A gay niche directory. Having a gay directory gives gay individuals an easy way to find support groups, entertainment, classes and new friends. Without this type of directory, gay's would be searching through larger directories for hours on end, looking through every business until they found the right one. With a gay directory, they are able to simply click on a category of their choice and only be provided with business's that offer gay services. The simplicity of searching through this type of website is relieving and refreshing.
It might not be breaking news really, but this last year or so could be easily called the year of bullying and suicide awareness for the LGBT community and unfortunately not only.
Each and every death is heartbreaking and tragic. I dare say that the death of Jamey Rodemeyer and the reaction of his bullies to his death should really be an awakening moment to the parents of those bullies. Hear about his story here
As a mother, if my son was like that, even if hypothetically lets say I was opposed to homosexuality, I’d definitely start wondering what kind of a parent am I and what kind of a child am I raising. I’d ask myself where I went wrong and allowed my child to turn into a psychological and often physical beast.
Darkq and IdeideGay are coming back today with another interesting interview taken for the fans of Mister Gay Sweden - Christo Willesen, who is also one of the favourites at Mister Gay Europe 2011.
Even though he did not win the competition, Christo Willesen remained in our eyes one of the most appreciated men in the competition. Maybe because of his masculinity, his attitude, but also because of his beautiful body, Christo couldn`t pass unnoticed, leaving behind him nothing but hopes.
However, you must know that Christo, who represented Sweden at Mister Gay Europe 2011, did not go home empty handed: he won the prize called "Mister Photogenic", a prize which he totally deserves.
Now, I invite you to know Mister Gay Sweden a bit better, through a brief interview taken by Robert (www.darkq.net) and Alex (www.ideidegay.ro).
Aor those of you who haven`t found out yet, this weekend Romania hosted the 7th edition of the Mister Gay Europe Contest (although it would have been hard to keep it a secret, thanks to those from Noua Dreapta, whom we thank).
After the contestants passed not only several auditions, but also the objectivity of the jury this Saturday evening, at the party organized by PSI Romania, in Avalanche club based in Poiana Brasov, the organizers announced the three semifinalists: Giulio Spatola (Mister Gay Italy), Christo Willesen (Mister Gay Sweden) and Barry Francis Gouldsbury (Mister Gay Ireland).
My message is that you must not be afraid to come out, because this is the secret in order to defeat homophobia.
After another audition, Giulio Spatola was elected Mister Gay Europe 2011.
A few hours before the event, when the delegates started feeling the emotions and suspense was floating in the air, we and Alex - the administrator of the blog IdeiDeGay.ro, decided to stay and talk a bit with every contestant that participated to Mister Gay Europe, but due to the fact that time was flying, we only had the chance to talk to three of the participants: Giulio, Christo and Barry.
I just came across an article saying that due to the latest changes in the military service regarding transgender soldiers, transgender people that enroll in the military are allowed not only to serve openly, but also to wear clothes according to the gender they identify themselves with. It`s definitely a step forward towards acceptance.
I`m glad to see that Canada has changed its policy concerning trans soldiers, keeping in mind that other countries such as the U.S. still have to decide whether they will or will not allow gay and lesbian soldiers to serve their country openly, because for the moment, soldiers who enroll in the U.S. army are not allowed to do so due to the well-known, discriminatory DADT policy (Don`t Ask, Don`t Tell).
This month, the legislature passed the bill in order to legalize same-sex civil unions, and all it needed was the governor`s signature. Apparently, if things are okay and there`s no problem, it`s very likely that same-sex unions will be recognized in the State of Illinois, beginning with the year 2011.
However, keep in mind that same-sex unions are not synonymous to gay marriages. The textbook definition of the civil union says: "it is recognized legally, and it is similar to marriage". The difference is that marriage has many religious conotations and lots of people are against gay marriage as they stand for the traditional marriage, and this makes me think that a law regarding same-sex unions would be able to pass EASIER than a law regarding gay marriages.
Some of the most known artists and top twitterers such as Kim Kardashian, Justin Timberlake, Alicia Keys or Usher have chosen to be "digitally dead" for World AIDS Day. They did this because this way they hope they can raise one million dollars in order to help those affected by HIV/AIDS.
Basically, this Digital Death thing is a fund raising campaign, and if you ask me, they deserve our respect for this. Together, all the artists who agreed to be part of the campaign have more than 30 million followers on Twitter or other social networks such as Facebook, and all of them have agreed NOT to tweet anything/post anything new, until the sum of 1 million dollars is raised. No worries though, all your favourite stars will "come back to life" once the million is raised
Since tomorrow is the World AIDS Day, I was thinking about writing something related to this. Apparently, there is this medication called Truvada, a combination of two other compounds, emtricitabine and tenofovir, both of them being antiretroviral drugs prescribed to HIV-positive patients.
Although so far, there is no cure for HIV/AIDS, the antiretroviral treatment, if taken correctly, can greatly slow down the evolution of the disease, therefore it can provide a longer lifespan to HIV-positive patients.
This Sunday was held the Gay Pride in India`s Capital City, New Delhi. This Gay Pride is the first one to take place after India legalised homosexuality last year.
Gay men, lesbians, bisexuals, transgenders but also their allies marched on the streets of New Delhi, while the passers by were watching them. However, this is not the first Gay Pride to take place in India, there were two more in the past who were considered protests, but this was definitely the most significant one.
Short time after Ricky Martin was invited on Larry King Live to talk about topics such as gay marriage or fatherhood, Vice President Joe Biden was invited to talk about the well-known DADT policy ( "Don`t Ask, Don`t Tell").
As probably most of you already know, DADT reffers to the restriction of the US military to discover and/or reveal gay, lesbian or bisexual people. Moreover, unless one of the exceptions of DADT applies, this policy basically prohibits gay/lesbian/bisexual people from serving the US army forces.
