Check out the short gay film '306'; written, directed and produced by film maker Elliot London. Set in Chicago, IL, this 11 minute short film shows a day in the life of a young man. Without a single word spoken, '306' is full of emotion and shows us exactly how Eric (played by Brian Estel) feels at all times. Beautifully shot and great acting.
In just one month, '306' received over 95,000 hits on Vimeo and was viewed in over 155 countries in every continent of the world.
I do not really understand why many artists throughout history have been homosexual. More and more, however, this seems to be true. If we accept the idea that homosexuality is genetic, and I do, then maybe there is also some kind of genetic correlation between homosexuality and a predilection towards the arts. Whatever the reason, our world is a much better place for the work that many of these homosexual artists have produced.

Gay Arts
Of course, homosexuality is not a recent development in the history of mankind. Sappho of Lesbos, who lived in Ancient Greece more than 2500 years ago, is greatly revered for her lyric poetry. Although most of it has been lost, her reputation as an outstanding artist has survived. The word “lesbian” is derived from her name, although it did not come into popular use until the nineteenth century.
Everyone loves a good movie; I know I do. There have been many movies that have allowed the gay community to shine and others that have missed the mark. One of the favorite movies that really showcased homosexuality as a beautiful thing was “The Birdcage." I will be honest I am a huge Robin Williams fan, so watching this movie was a given for me.

Top Gay Movies
“The Birdcage” was actually a drag club based in the South Beach area. The funny plot made this story quite enjoyable. Robin Williams played the gay nightclub owner. Since Robin is an incredibly seasoned actor; he pulled this part off and made it believable. When he attempts to play straight not to embarrass his son’s fiancé’s parents, it brought some memorable laughs. Nathan Lane played Robin’s partner. What was even more hilarious was dressing him up like a woman as an act not to offend the fiancé’s mother and father. It was one of the few movies that didn’t take the drama of the gay movement so seriously and actually had a great deal of fun with it. It was a favorite of mine, but it is over a decade old now.
A lot of people continue to maintain the unfortunate stereotype that alternative types of sexuality are a recent phenomenon. Historical research proves that this simply isn't true. Not only were homosexuals present in other cultures, they were generally accepted and sometimes even quite a bit of authority. For example, in some Native American tribes, homosexual men were given the important role of medicinal men and were some of the most highly respected members of the community.
One of the easiest places to find evidence of the LGBT community's role in history is to look at artwork. A lot of artists created works that portrayed people of alternative sexualities - and usually in a favorable light. The following are just a few examples of artists that featured the LGBT community in their pieces.
Few besides Oscar Wilde could bring more to the concept of a gay writer who influenced history. Wilde's historical reach spanned literary accomplishments, both in poetry and fiction, and even martyrdom, making him the quintessential historical gay writer.
Literary Accomplishments
Wilde's literary works were of note due to their emphasis on contemporary societal failures, such as hedonism, duplicity, and an emphasis on physical beauty over spiritual worth. These themes were brought together most especially in his singular novel, "The Picture of Dorian Grey," a novel whose central "lesson" continues to be applicable to this day. In some ways it could be said that Wilde wrote not only about contemporary culture, but of human culture, as the timeless nature of his work has continued to be evident within modern societies.
When we say "LGBT event", the first thing that comes into our minds is gay prides, right? Actually, the list of LGBT events and LGBT holidays is way larger, and it includes days or remembrance for those who lost their lives either due to homophobia or transphobia or to AIDS and many others.
Although the list is not huge, there are several LGBT events which are celebrated worldwide or only in some parts of the world. One thing is for sure: gay prides are the most common and well known LGBT events, and today lots of countries all around the world celebrate gay and LGBT prides yearly. The first gay pride was held 41 years ago, and nowadays gay prides have become so popular that even millions of people started to attend them, like it happened this year at Sao Paolo`s Gay Pride, where more than 3 million people are said to have attended the march.
Somebody asked me this question today. "Where do you see yourself ten years from now?". The fact is that you can never know what the future can bring you. You can receive a phone call and at the end of the line there`s a voice that tells you "Congratulations, you`ve just won 10 million $ at Bingo!". Or you can as well just get struck by a lightning and everything stops here. We can`t predict the future, and hell, I wouldn`t like to know what will happen to me in the future, because I would be too busy thinking about that moment and I`d forget to live the present.Speaking of the future and the fact that we`re unable to find what will happen to us, one particular TV ad came into my mind, and it was saying at the end: Ignorance is bliss. Ignorance really is bliss, in this case.
However, I`ll just answer the question by saying that, if my plans go well and the worldwide financial situation will improve, I see myself staying in my office (probably buried in paper), owning an international cosmetic product company. I see myself next to a loving husband that appreciates me for who I am, and probably having a bunch of kids running through the house. Seems pretty much like the american dream, huh?
As you probably know, today, 31st of October is Halloween. Some gay and LGBT clubs hosted the Halloween Party this Friday, while others did it last night. Unfortunately, I didn`t get the chance to go to this year`s Halloween Party, although I planned to. I even chose a costume that fits me perfectly, but I definitely will next year!
Vampires, zombies, werewolves, ghosts, witches and many other creatures came to life for night!
For the past few years, more and more pro-lgbt songs were released on the market by famous singers such as Lady GaGa or Lily Allen. If you ask me, the good thing about these pro-lgbt songs is that the fans of the singer are a bit more likely to become open minded, seeing that their favourite artist is open minded and supports lgbt people. Oh well, at least I hope so... .
Anyway, my favourite song (and music video as well) is Lady GaGa`s song, Alejandro. It`s my personal opinion, although some of the friends I talked to said that they don`t really like the music video because it presents a stereotype of the gay man (the guy at the beginning wearing stockings). Yet, I find it cool.
Yesterday I received a message from one of my new friends, asking me if I`d like to post a survey on my blog, related to LGBT shirts. She and her girlfriend are starting an LGBT t-shirt company, and they need to spread the word about their market research survey, so I said why not?
For those of you who want to help and complete the survey regarding LGBT t-shirts, you can find it HERE
