Body image is closely tied to self-esteem, and gay men who are preoccupied with perceived flaws in their physique are at increased risk for depression, anxiety, substance abuse, and eating disorders.
For anyone who’s ever stood and watched the glittering flesh parading past on gay pride day with a wilting sense of inadequacy, it ought to come as no surprise that numerous research studies have shown that gay men suffer from markedly elevated rates of dissatisfaction with their physiques compared to heterosexual men. The effects of this problem, psychologists find, go well beyond the worry that biceps are too small and waists are too wide. Body image is closely tied to self-esteem, and gay men who are preoccupied with perceived flaws in their physique are at increased risk for depression, anxiety, substance abuse, and eating disorders.
Until not very long time ago, I used to own all sorts of creams and stuff, for my face, body and hair. Just like any other woman, I like to take good care of myself, it`s natural, but recently I`ve discovered the benefits of natural hair masks and natural facial masks, which seem to work just as good as an expensive cream. Here are a few precious tips about facial masks and hair masks. I`ve tried many of them, but I decided to write down a list of those who were the most benefic for me.
1. Clay powder for cosmetic treatments. Clay is known for being very good for your skin, if used properly. I`ve been using this special clay powder since June or so (I bought it with a mini-guide of how to use it), and at the beginning I had a few pimples that disappeared right after the first month of using the clay. Besides, the face is way cleaner. Anyway, there are two recipes for preparing a clay mask, according to your skin type: one for oily skin and one for dry skin. I got oily skin, so I combined the clay with cucumber juice, tomatoes and lemon. For dry skin, it is recommended that you combine the clay with milk, honey or yolk.
Some gay boys can master the daunting tasks of development. They are sturdy souls. But other guys might not be quite as sturdy and need other ways to take care of themselves.
I`ve read that psychologists describe this type of gay guy as anxious, perfectionists. With bulimia, those who are predisposed are also impulsive. This type of gay guy is a worrywart, thin-skinned. Things get to him. In a positive light, he is intelligent and driven. In a negative one, he is extremely hard on himself; he doesn't feel worthwhile unless he accomplishes the ultimate.
Beauty is universal. Beauty has no age, no boundaries and certainly no definition, because two people can look at two fashion models and while one of them considers her absolutely gorgeous, the other one doesn`t see her beauty as being anything out of the ordinary. Let`s be serious, people, beauty has a price and many gay men, lesbians and transgenders (me included) are willing to pay. Why? It`s simple, the saying "it`s not beauty that comes first" isn`t really like this and we all know it. You`re not superficial, shallow or whatever if you care about the way your partner, wife or husband looks like, you`re just realistic and honest.
There`s nothing wrong in caring about the way you look, because when you look good & feel attractive, you automatically feel good as well, and this not only has a great impact on your mental health, but also boosts your self confidence. Generally speaking, this is a matter that everybody takes into consideration when reaching a certain age. Regardless of their orientation, not only Hollywood stars but also regular people would do anything to look young and fit: metrosexuals, heterosexuals, bisexuals, gay, transgender, they all put an accent when it comes to beauty.
We know that esthetic surgeries are an option for many of us, especially when we are talking about stars and Hollywood celebs. But what happens when some of them just forget the number of the esthetic surgeries they`ve had? Or what about those persons which made an obsession for the perfect, flawless look, and due to the countless esthetic surgeries have become monsters? Here is what I think.
Not once did it happen for BBC, CNN and all the big news channels to present cases of personalities that decided it was time to go for the scalpel and diminish the first signs of the age and the surgery went awfully wrong. Nobody assures us that once we go for esthetic surgeries we will get the results we were expecting or that there is no posibility for complications to occur. It is a risk we like to take, just for the sake of a younger face or a more beautiful body. But is it really worth it?
Who isn`t fond of chocolate, no matter if you`re young or old, boy or girl? Chocolate is our sweet sin, our little delight that not only helps us to indulge ourselves a bit, but also helps us stay young and beautiful. For instance, a chocolate facial mask can help you lighten your skin tone because of their antioxidants, while the lactic acid significantly smoothens your skin. This if you can resist and not eat your chocolate facial mask before it works its magic for you!
Besides its delicious taste, chocolate is very benefic for your body, face and hair. For instance, if you wrap your body in a chocolate mask your skin will be very well hydrated, while the shea butter increases your skin elasticity. Moreover, your elbows and knees get well hydrated. Also, chocolate is known for its properties of tightening and refining the skin when used as a chocolate facial mask.
For example, the chocolate facial mask has proven to have a very efficient effect upon your face when it comes to the following aspects: chocolate keeps your face fresh and revigorates it, maintaining its young look; it has an important anti-wrinkle formula if used for a long term along with its nourishing and shining effects. You can buy a chocolate facial mask or you can just prepare it yourself at home using cocoa, honey, milk, a bit of salt and the key ingredient: black chocolate. I don`t have the exact recipe but I know that these are the ingredients used when preparing a chocolate facial mask.
Every woman knows that perfumes are essential, along with make up and clothes. They`re almost indispensable, because perfumes not only make people create a better impression about you, but they also reflect your personality and your tastes. People who specialize in perfumes say that a woman can even be entirely characterized only by analyzing the perfumes she wears and likes.
Whenever you decide it`s time for you to replace your old perfume, you grab your purse and go to the perfume shop where you spend hours only testing pefumes. But how can you really guess the one that fits you best? Well, I think that there`s no book that can teach you that, but you can guess which is best for you keeping in mind certain factors such as your tastes when it comes to perfumes, your style, your personality and also the occasion for which you will wear that perfume.
Handbags are those accessories that must not miss from any woman`s closet, being one of the most important things when it comes to self esteem. They`re absolutely indispensable and they are usually used for caring our phones, tissues, hair brush, make up kit, keys, wallet and everything we need to have close to us in case of... emergency!
It is known that purses and handbags firstly appeared around three thousand years ago, but of course they were simple, low-quality and mostly made of animal skin. They`re fancy, come in hand and they are the cherry on the top because they go well with your outfits, if you know how to match them in the appropriate way.
Nowadays there is seldom seen that a woman doesn`t have a handbag. They come in every shape and size, colour, price and design, and can fit perfectly in any woman`s hand, even if they are very pretentious when it comes to this and for instance want to buy only those handbags which are entirely made of crocodile skin. Every large brand is producing handbags besides clothes, sunglasses and perfumes, and some of us would spend thousands of dollars just to get one of those.
Shopping, massage, make up ... I guess these are the words that can brighten up any woman`s day (and if not, it does brighten up my day!). I`ve always been fond of shopping, I would spend hours at shopping just searching and trying out new clothes and shoes, some say that i`m even a shopaholic... well, guess it`s better to be a shopaholic rather than a workaholic. Better to ruin your credit card than your health, huh? I`ll just show you my daily obsessions.
When you`re doing something that you enjoy, having a massage for instance, you release the stress and tension you`ve been gathering throughout the day. As a following, I will just keep on feeding my daily obsessions, starting with my morning coffee which is a total must and continuing with emptying my credit cards. If there`s anything worse that the current financial crisis, it`s running out of money while shopping and not being able to buy yourself those black, high-heeled shoes that you saw last day or that perfect make up kit you just worship! This would be the hardest torture to bear!
Nowadays, we all put accent on a long, wealthy, problem-free life although this thing is hard to obtain. There are basically a few factors that influence our life quality in a negative way, but there is a way to minimize their side effects. However, I am going to present you 10 tips in order to be healthy both physically and mentally and have a long and fulfilling life:
1. Get a pet!
Our everyday problems and worries can sometimes be overwhelming and so they significantly reduce our life quality due to depressions, anxiety or stress. This is why a pet, even if we`re talking about a dog, cat or a canary, plays an important role in reducing stress. It is really good to know that even if you`re single, there is still somebody waiting for you to come home. I personally can say that my dog helped me whenever I felt lower than the floor, bored or not in mood for anything. Pets can work their magic on you, too!
