Best moments to Begin Male-to-female Transition.

September 2, 2010 |  by Persona non grata  |  Everyday life  |  No Comments

As known, the best moment to begin hormone replacement therapy (aka the first step towards the male-to-female transition) is at the beginning of the puberty (around the age of 12-13). Beginning with that age, the body starts to produce testosterone, testosterone being the male hormone responsible for the secondary male gender characteristics (wide shoulders, large hands, male voice and so on and so forth).

What the hormone replacement therapy does is to prevent the body of a biological male from producing testosterone, and also “insert” estrogen, the female hormone which is responsible for secondary female gender characteristics (waist, high-pitched voice, small shoulders and overall a feminine appearance). By doing the HRT (hormone replacement therapy), male-to-female transgenders somehow trick their body in such a way that it will develop just like the body of a biological female, and the hormone levels will be reversed: low testosterone level & high estrogen level.

If you had children and family, would you quit your bisexual tendencies and turn straight for the sake of your kids?

If you had children and family, would you quit your bisexual tendencies and turn straight for the sake of your kids?

September 1, 2010 |  by Persona non grata  |  Controversial, Family & Health  |  12 Comments

This is quite a tricky and intriguing question, isn`t it? Well, I have noticed that, generally speaking, there comes a time in the life of every bisexual or pansexual man when he feels the need of having a family: somebody to love him and a kid or two, just to complete everything. However, I said “generally speaking” because only a few bisexual/pansexual men feel this or would be capable to have a family without sneaking out of the house at 2:00 A.M and cheat on their wives with the next door twink.

I`ve seen lots of cases of bisexual men who got married, had a couple of children and lived a happy life. Still, while some of them managed to stick to their wives only and were very loyal (thing which even took them by surprise), others had to “escape” once or twice a month and satisfy their needs with other men. Why? I don`t know, maybe they didn`t want to break up with their wives because of the needs they had, and this is why they had to do this. Now, I know that sometimes, no matter how much you`d like to think rationally and tell yourself “that`s it, I got a family and from now on I have to be straight, if not for my wife at least for my kids”, you just can`t control yourself and instinct takes over you.  And yeah, when this happens, things usually go insane.

Body Hair – A gift for many, but a curse for others. How do you see it?

August 31, 2010 |  by Persona non grata  |  LGBT issues  |  1 Comment

Everybody has it: gay or straight, man or woman, young or old. We all have body hair, although the ammount of body hair does vary from one person to another. There are many factors which determine one`s ammount of body hair, such as sexuality (men have more body hair than women), or the hormone level, because it is known that testosterone is the one to be held responsible for this.

However, many gay men see body hair as a sign of virility, masculinity. Most of the gay/bisexual men like their partners to be hairy and as natural as possible, because otherwise  if their partner waxes or shaves his legs or arms, he`d be considered effeminate or something. Anyway, while some men consider body hair a blessing or something attractive (bears, you know), for others (such as transgenders and full-time crossdressers) this can be a real issue.

Twinks… Why`s everybody so mad after Twinkies?!

August 30, 2010 |  by Persona non grata  |  Controversial  |  4 Comments

You know, some lyrics just came into my mind when I was thinking about this topic. You probably know Ladytron, the music band, and in their song called “Seventeen” they have a couple of lyrics which I consider to be really true (and appliable to the real life): “They only want you when you`re 17/ When you`re 21, you`re no fun”. Isn`t that so… ?
First of all, for those of you who don`t know what the term “Twink” means, I shall put it in a nutshell: “twink” is a lgbt slang which reffers to very young gay boys, usually around the age of 18-20. However, this term is very used among the LGBT community, so if you`re new it`s impossible not to hear it like every single day.

Why is everybody so mad after twinks? I mean, most of the gay men out there want twinks for sexual purposes only, very few of them would like to start a relationship with a twink because they see twinks as immature and childish. Well, yeah, that`s normal, how do you expect them to be since they`re 18 or so?

Worldwide Economical Effect and Impact Upon Gay Marriages

August 29, 2010 |  by Persona non grata  |  Controversial  |  No Comments

When talking about the worldwide economy and the controversial same sex marriages, there must be mentioned two major effects that these two have: first of all, the legalization of  gay marriages can have as a following a significant economical boost in those particular states/countries where gay marriages are officially recognized, due to the taxes that the couples have to pay, etc.

Second of all, in the same time the very unstable worldwide economical situation is seen as an obstacle not only by heterosexual couples, but especially by gay/lesbian couples who want to get married or purchase a real estate who confront with this, besides the fact that they also deal with the obstacles imposed by society.

However, one thing`s for sure: the recession is affecting all of us, whether we are talking about gay/lesbian/bisexual couples who want to purchase a real estate or the heterosexual couples who want to get married.

What`s the Weirdest, Funniest and Craziest Thing you`ve ever done for your Lover?

August 28, 2010 |  by Persona non grata  |  For your entertainment  |  2 Comments

Now, this is a bit off- topic because it is not especially for gay, lesbian, bisexual or transgenders like you`re used to with the other articles , it`s for everybody who did something crazy and wild for their BF/GF, and I consider this subject to be one of the most interesting. I`ve heard lots of stories  from both gay people and heterosexuals who did some crazy stuff for their lovers, to impress them, to as for forgiveness or to simply spice things up a bit.

However, I`d be deligted to hear some others, because I strongly believe that when you truly love somebody, you`re able to do things you wouldn`t ever imagine doing, and that`s just great! Trust me, when you`re in love, the human imagination and creativity has no  boundaries! Nothing can stop you, and you feel like you can find your inspiration in basically everything.

Bisexuality – Sometimes a rebellious teen phase?

August 27, 2010 |  by Persona non grata  |  Everyday life  |  8 Comments

Some people, especially those who are close to you (best friends and family) tend to think and also make you think that bisexuality is nothing but a phase, if you`re passing through your teenager years and that everything will come “back to normal” once you`re done with puberty.

I`ve heard stories when parents tried to make their children believe the same thing and told them that it`s normal to feel attracted by both men and women and that same thing  happened to them when they were teenagers. In the end, is it really like this? For like three quarters of bisexuals, bisexuality isn`t a rebellious teen phase at all. It`s a sexual orientation, a lifestyle and definitely not a choice, regardless how many people think the opposite.

When was the last time you got tested for HIV?

August 26, 2010 |  by Persona non grata  |  Family & Health, LGBT issues  |  3 Comments

It`s a known fact that HIV infection is one of the LGBT issues which needs the most attention. Studies have shown that more than 30 million people live with HIV/AIDS all around the world, and 7000 people find out every day that they`re infected with this terrible virus. Thirty million people who want to live and who are still waiting for scientists to discover a vaccine which completely cures the HIV infection. For almost three decades, such discovery wasn`t possible. Although the antiretroviral drugs have significantly improved the life of HIV positive patients, the cure everybody`s waiting for still hasn`t been discovered. Anyway, scientists claim that they`re very close of it, because a couple of months ago they discovered this very strong natural antibody which anihilates more tham 90% of the HIV virus mutations and helps them with their research.

I know that everybody talks about it and readers begin to get sick of hearing the same things over and over again, but I`m gonna talk about the HIV subject once more. Why? It`s simple, with all these prevention campains and ads, thousands of people still get infected each day. You know, they say it`s always better to prevent diseases or infections rather than treat them, and this saying especially applies when it comes to HIV infection. This is why so many money are invested into preventing the HIV infection.

Since heterosexual people enjoy anal intercourse, why do they mock on gays, bisexuals and transgenders for doing the same?

August 24, 2010 |  by Persona non grata  |  Controversial  |  5 Comments

I`ve always asked myself why do heterosexuals (heterosexual men mostly) like to mock on gay, bisexual and transgender people for enjoying anal intercourse. I mean, come on, if you`re randomly picking up ten guys and ask them “did you ever had anal with your girlfriend?”, undoubtedly at least five of them will answer YES, I DID. They were either curious, or they find it hotter than the regular sexual intercourse. Either way, this doesn`t give them the right to be such hypocrits.

However, if you ask heteros why do they mock on us for enjoying this type of intimate contact, they usually answer “it isn`t gross to do it with a woman, but it`s disguisting to do it with a man”. No sh*t, why isn`t it gross to do that with a woman? Do women use their booties for other “biological purposes” than men? I don`t think so ;) .
